Frysja – a stream of stories

Frysja is the ancient name for Akerselva, the main artery of Oslo. The name change is due to a Danish bureaucrat who in 1636 renamed the river “Aggershuuses elv“. But in Norse the old river is named – “the foaming one“, probably a name related to the many small waterfalls of the river.

Torgrim Mellum Stene has often walked along the river and has put together a stream of stories related to this stream from different times. The 15th of January he will perform a storytelling show where the historical, the mythical and the personal will meet and flow out into the sea.

While the river foams outside.
